Unexpected Inner Peace Found On The Soil of Peace

So I’m sure you all are aware that this year marked the 50th anniversary of Woodstock. Many of you may also know that my honey and I have a small place about 10 miles from the historic site, now the home of Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

While we didn’t attend any concerts during the 50th Anniversary weekend (08/15-18/19), we did drive around the area where the many crowds and colors were everywhere putting smiles on the faces and in the hearts of everyone, including ours!

We returned to the #Catskills the following weekend to attend the Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo & #Melissa_Etheridge concert at Bethel Woods. It was here that I felt a small part of “me” actually come alive again.

Yes it was the 50th Anniversary of Woodstock and yes everyone was feeling and sharing the sense of love but somehow the words Melissa Etheridge was saying in between songs both moved me and spoke to my heart; unleashing a sense of calm and peace within me that I haven’t felt since my surgery gone wrong left me #paralyzed. Thank you Melissa Etheridge for reminding me that we ALL need to encourage our neighbors, love our neighbors, appreciate our neighbors BUT it starts within each one of us, we must first encourage ourselves, love ourselves and appreciate ourselves before we can share.

As always, I wish you days filled with wonder – take a minute to wonder what it is that made you smile today!
