Calling all cat lovers, this is the event for you! Calling all non-cat owners, this is still the event to see!
Now in its 3rd year, Cat-N-Around Catskill is a very interesting and fun activity to see.
This year being “A Quadricentennial Celebration” Main Street in Catskill becomes the Hudson River as the Catskill Cats celebrate Explore NY 400, Hudson-Fulton-Champlain Quadricentennial Celebration. This year’s special 2009 felines arrived ready to celebrate the Hudson River Valley. The cats are decorated to reflect the culture, art, history, agriculture, industry and landscapes of this “wonderful” region / valley that I’m so proud to call home!
I am so glad to have had the chance to see this magnificent event and look forward to next year’s event. If you haven’t already, I would encourage you to take a drive to Catskill and enjoy a leisurely walk down the street of this 19th century riverfront village.
60 painted fiberglass felines will be sCATered along the historic Main Street in the Village of Catskill for this summer-long celebration. Bring the kids, bring your camera and spend an afternoon prowling about with our capricious, whimsical, imaginative kitties. Don’t forget to visit our wide array of shops, galleries and eateries as you stroll. We guarantee you’ll go home with a smile
on your face.
Cat’n Around Catskill 2009 will culminate with a live auction of our fabulous felines at the Cat’s Meow Auction and Gala on Sunday, October 4th at The Historic Catskill Point on the Hudson River where these kitties will be looking for a permanent home.

Here are a few of the wonderful cats
Interesting enough, while visiting the shops along Main Street we learned that just across the river in Hudson NY the dogs are on display along Warren Street. So, being a dog lover/owner we had to take a ride across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge into Hudson so see the Best In Show Hudson Dogs. Here are some of the amazing 40 or so dogs we spotted walking down Warren Street.
As always, I wish you days filled with happiness and “wonder” – take the time to “wonder” what it is that made you smile today)!
